Our Story

Here's how the story goes..... Some time in 2016 I decided I wanted to learn about making cold processed soap. Why cold processed soap, you may ask. Isn't lye dangerous and toxic? Well, yeah, sort of. But I like to live life on the edge. Or at least that's what I've been told. I just like to think of it as the “fun” side of life. Anyway, I got a couple of books and started reading, and I decided this was something I was ready to tackle. So I attended a local soap making class. Afterwards all the knowledge from my books was making more sense. And, like most people, I like to have an accomplice when I try new “dangerous” things. I guess you could say it's because it makes me feel less like I'm doing something bad or scary if I have someone else by my side. LOL. So I grabed a willing participant and we dug in, we did it, and I was addicted. A couple of failed attempts, and a lot of soap later, I was making soap to give to friends and family as gifts, not to mention replacing all the soap we used in the home. Further down the time line my other half told me (insert deep gruf voice here) “you should start selling your soaps”. Now I know I've told you I'm up to a good challenge, and that much is true. But I also have a giving heart. So the thought of asking people for money for something that I pour my heart into just didn't click for me. Needless to say I denied his proposal- don't worry he didn't take it personally- but he was persistent. Every once in a while I would get a “Man, your soap is so good! I'm tellin ya, you should sell it”. And finally, one day, I agreed. So here we are, nine years later (2025) and after a LOT of experience, experiments, failures, successes, sweat and tears I've started a business. I can say that since I've started the business (founded in 2022) I've come a long way. There's just something about making it a business that flipped a switch for me. Slipping into the business owner roll has driven me to work harder at perfecting my product, and made me more accountable to my patrons making sure you get the best productr I can make.

Now my other passion is herbs and herbalism. This is why you can find herb infused oils in some of my products like the Rose Soap, C&L Honeysuckle Soap, and Chamomile Baby But Bar. I'm a firm believer in the plants and their abilities to help with what ails us. But it's not just for business. I use herbs in my everyday life as well. I continue to educate myself in the art of herbalism, and also grow as much of the plants on my property as possible. I like caring for them and knowing what goes into my products (and body), start to finish. But when I can't grow enough I source organic, ethically grown herbs from a company called Mountain Rose Herbs. It's a little more costly this way but I feel it essential to use healthy herbs that have high potential.
