OUR STORY
About Vita Body Products
Back in 2016, I decided life wasn’t quite dangerous enough, so naturally, I picked up a hobby that involves lye. Cold process soap. Yep—the same stuff people whisper about like it’s liquid doom. “Isn’t that toxic?” they asked. Well… sort of. But I like to think of it as my version of extreme sports. Other people climb mountains—I play with caustic substances in my kitchen. Tomato, tomahto.
I devoured books, took a local class, roped in an accomplice (because explosions are always more fun with a friend), and boom—saponification magic. I was instantly hooked. Sure, there were a few failed attempts (RIP, sad bars of sludge), but eventually, I was cranking out soap like a bubbly little factory. Friends and family got piles of it as gifts whether they wanted it or not, and my house smelled like a lavender patch collided with a candy shop.
Then came my other half with his dramatic grumble: “You should sell your soaps.”
At first? Nope. The idea of charging people for something I poured my whole heart into felt… wrong. Like selling hugs. But he kept pestering me (“Man, your soap is so good, I’m telling you…”), and eventually, I caved.
Fast forward: a lot of experiments, triumphs, meltdowns, and probably a small fortune in essential oils later, and I had myself a full-blown business (officially in 2022).
🔵 Today, Vita Body Products is a Kentucky-based, small-batch body care business where everything is still handmade with the same slightly obsessive attention that started with those first bars of cold-process soap. No giant factory. No conveyor belts. Just me, a lot of ingredients, and an alarming number of things that need stirring. 😏
And here’s the thing: once you give me a cauldron and some ingredients, I can’t stop at just soap. Suddenly I’m making:
💋 Lip balms
💣 Bath bombs — adult fizzies + kid-approved chaos
🌬 Shower steamers
🙌 Natural deodorant
🧴 Magnesium lotion
🌱 Herbal salves and balms
✒️ Ink Stick tattoo balm
🧼 Shampoo and conditioner bars
🔵 Basically, if it can fizz, foam, moisturize, or make your bathroom smell suspiciously good—I’ve probably made it. And if I haven’t yet, give me time.

🌿 Herbs, Kentucky Dirt & a Little Bit of Magic
Of course, my other not-so-secret obsession is herbs. 🌿 Herbalism sneaks into so many of my products—rose soap, honeysuckle soap, chamomile baby butt bar (say that five times fast).
🔵 Whenever I can, I grow the herbs I use right here on my land in Kentucky. There’s something pretty satisfying about watching a plant grow outside my door and eventually finding its way into a batch of handmade soap or body care.
And when I can’t grow enough, I source from kindred plant nerds here in Kentucky, like Honesty & Herbs.
🔵 Keeping things local when I can matters to me—not because it makes a prettier label, but because Kentucky farmers, growers, makers, and small businesses are part of what keeps communities like ours going.
🔵 Handmade in Kentucky. Proud of It.
Homegrown in Kentucky, Certified Kentucky Proud, and Certified Appalachian Proud, Vita Body Products is rooted in a love for handmade body care, local plants, and a little bit of magic.
🔵 You’ll also find Vita out in the wild at Kentucky farmers markets, festivals, and local events—usually surrounded by soap, bath bombs, herbs, and at least one product that makes somebody stop and ask, “Okay… what the heck is THAT?” 😏
So yeah… what started as a “dangerous little hobby” is now a full-blown potion shop. A mix of soap, botanicals, and a pinch of chaos.
🔵 Everything is still made in small batches here in Kentucky, because shortcuts aren't really my thing. Apparently doing things the easy way isn't either.
My mission? To make products that feel wonderful to use and make you grin every time you reach for them.
Because honestly—life’s too short for boring soap. 🧼✨
Handmade. Herb-infused. No shortcuts.
